YouTube to launch new music streaming service in March
The giant of videos Youtube is preparing the launch of its own music streaming service called Remix.
According to Bloomberg, the new service will be available to the public in March 2018. The new project of Google aims to compete with the world’s service leaders such as Apple Music and Spotify and will incorporate some of YouTube’s own features.
Google has already closed an agreement with Warner Music Group and is in talks with Universal and Sony. It also negotiates an agreement with Merlin, representative of hundreds of independent labels.
Remix could mean good news for record-industry executives, who in the past have pushed for more revenue from YouTube.
